Personal motivation

About 3 out of 4 emerging infectious diseases in humans are zoonotic, making animal and human health to be deeply interconnected. This connectivity requires scientists to develop not only novel but also rapid pathogen discovery techniques in animals, so we can strengthen disease surveillance as well as design methods of preventing and controlling diseases. With my background in animal health, I joined MonoGutHealth to further understand the mechanism of host – pathogen – interaction in the intestine of chicken and to contribute to designing a rapid method of detecting animal diseases.”
